1991 Volkswagen Corrado G60

On only its second local owner, this 160bhp Corrado has been superbly maintained by its current custodian of nineteen years. With power steering, central locking, alloy wheels, an Active rear spoiler and the Karmann interior, the highly appointed model is now a rare beast on British roads and certainly one in such good condition must be hard to replicate. Evidence of continuous maintenance can be found in the history file, with bills for servicing and parts (such as pipes, washers, seals, filters etc) and thousands of pounds have been lavished on the car since 2005.

Anti-roll bar links were replaced in 2011. In around 2013, the rear axle bushes were upgraded to Poly bush and the front lower suspension arms were renewed. A stainless steel exhaust system was fitted in 2014, as was a Powerflow sports catalytic converter in 2015. In the same year, the driver’s seat was repaired, new tyres were fitted and a restoration with paintwork was carried out. Work included attention to the sills and chassis, and sealant wax was applied. A suspension Bilstein B14 coilover kit was installed in 2015. Fuel hoses in the engine were replaced in 2019. The ignition switch was renewed in 2022 and new roof mouldings, genuine VW parts, were also fitted that year. Spark plugs, engine mounts and the battery were all replaced in 2023, as were the spark plugs, water pump, timing belt tensioner, ignition coil and distributor. A new cambelt has been recently fitted and the shock upper nuts in the suspension have been renewed in September this year.

The body, underside, panel fit, paintwork are all first class. The interior is very good for the car’s age. The flooring has been renewed with genuine VW carpet. The mechanics are all obviously up together with no known issues. The electric sunroof, sat-nav, Alpine front speakers and immobiliser are all non-original and working.

The history file contains a large quantity of invoices for maintenance, parts, servicing etc, plus photographs, the bill of sale from 2005, a continuous run of MOT test certificates from 2004, an older V5C and the current V5C registration certificate.
