1960 Ariel Leader 250cc

We are told that this Ariel was put into storage in 1978 at 42856 miles and remained in place for several decades before being rescued and eventually correctly restored. We understand that work carried out included a full engine rebuild together with upgrades including Pazon electronic ignition and coil, a 12 volt alternator, and an LED Cibie headlamp conversion for modern night time riding. The front brake was apparently re-lined, the rear wheel was rebuilt, the seat base renewed, the fuel tank was refurbished and the body was restored and resprayed to the original colour scheme. Now in clean, tidy, usable order, we are told that the machine runs well and is without any known mechanical issues.

The history file contains a copy of the Book of the Ariel Leader and Arrow by Haycraft, an original owner’s guide, an original parts list and a photocopy, a Club dating certificate, photographs, wiring instructions and diagrams, and the V5C registration certificate. The now fairly rare machine will surely be a welcome entrant in club gatherings and road runs.
