1972 MG B GT

This striking B GT was owned by its vendor’s brother for twenty eight years and was enjoyed at shows and events. We understand that he purchased the sports car from a lady owner who used the MG on a daily basis for sixteen years and so for the last 44 years, perhaps more, the vehicle has resided locally in the Blackmore Vale.

It appears that in 1999, a partial restoration and repaint was carried out with new sill panels fitted and repairs to the floor, wheel arches, front bulkhead etc. The front wings were renewed in 2002. We note also that a new fuel tank has been fitted in this ownership, together with a new clutch, a new exhaust, a new fuel pump, a replacement gearbox, halogen headlamps etc. There is evidence in the file of very regular maintenance throughout the Nineties and Noughties.

The GT is now, as a result of the careful maintenance, in good order. The body, underside, panel and paintwork are all described as being very tidy (apart from a small dent on the rear panel and tailgate). The navy cloth and vinyl upholstery is similarly good for its age (it may be original or a later renewal) and there are no known mechanical issues, it drives as one would expect.

The history file contains photographs, the bill of sale in 1996, an Olyslager manual, numerous invoices, five MOT test certificates from 1996, a V5 document and the V5C registration certificate.
