In the current family ownership for fourteen years, this Series III Land Rover has been used infrequently, having covered less than 1500 miles since 2010 and apart from a short while spent on the Isle of Rum, it has been continuously dry barn stored and well maintained in this ownership. In its current condition, this fairly priced Land Rover is a workhorse not a concours queen; for someone searching for a utility vehicle, with a current MOT until July 2025, this sought-after Series III is ready for work or play.
The body and panel work are described as average for the vehicle’s age, the chassis and underside are good. The original paint is faded and worn in places. There is evidence of surface rust on the steel parts but we do not believe it to be severe. The inner door frames have the usual problems of rust. The seats are very tidy, having been reupholstered in approximately 2014. The floor rubber mats are also good. Instrumentation is believed to be working and headlining is apparently good. The vendor tells us that there are no known mechanical faults but the vehicle may benefit from a service before regular use. We are aware of some cracking on the tyres which was flagged as an advisory in the last MOT. MOT test history supplied suggests that the odometer reading of less than 82000 miles is probably correct and invoices in the file show parts procured for mechanical maintenance.
The well-ordered history file contains MOT test certificates dating to 1990, invoices from 2005, an older V5C and the current V5C registration certificate.
ADDENDUM 16.10.2024 - Also included in the file: an edition 4 LR owner's manual, an edition 4 LR repair operation manual, a Haynes manual for II, IIA and III, and an RAC manual.
