This Super Snipe was originally assembled at the Rootes Melbourne plant and spent its life in Australia until the current custodian imported it into the UK in 2019. In good condition overall, the Humber did have poor paintwork and so a bare metal respray was carried out in 2022 at a cost of £5000, with the motor car finished in BMC Grampian Grey. It has been clearly cherished throughout its life and certainly whilst in the UK; the vendor has kept it in a heated garage, driven it regularly and serviced and maintained it correctly with regular oil and filter changes. An audio system has been fitted along with relays, an alternator and voltmeter on the dashboard. The tyres have been replaced in the current ownership and are good, the brakes have recently been relined and are overhauled, a track rod end has been replaced and a new battery was fitted in August. The exhaust system is stainless steel.

We are told now that the body is good and rust free, as is the floor, boot, chassis and underside. The paint remains first class. There is some minor pitting on the brightwork. The interior is described as being good, with smart carpets, good original headlining and very tidy upholstery (the front seats are vinyl type from a later model). The motor car benefits from front and rear seat belts. The dash facia is original and instrumentation is all working.

Mechanically, the Humber performs well; we understand that an engine overhaul has been carried out in the last decade. The vendor has maintained it well, as mentioned above, and tells us that there are no known faults.

The history file contains the Australian title and associated documentation, the purchase agreement with the previous owner, full shipping documentation from Australia and the HMRC NOVA certificate, together with service and parts invoices from the current ownership, a service record from the last five years, the original handbook and a replacement, a parts catalogue / workshop manual, a Shell lubrication chart and the V5C registration certificate. Also supplied is the jack, starting handle, wheel brace and grease gun, plus a new windscreen rubber and a stainless steel silencer.
