Boosted by TV fame in the early Bergerac series, the Triumph Roadster came to the public eye and has remained popular for its long distance comfortable cruising abilities, plus its quirky old fashioned dickey seat arrangement which allows four persons to be transported, the rear pair having their own windscreen. This example is equipped with a TR2 engine unit, something that DS Bergerac would have been grateful to have had himself, as it out-performs the original engine unit which is also included in the sale. The fitted engine has been rebuilt with new pistons and liners to approximately 2200cc and is equipped with a new electric cooling fan. A new radiator has been installed as well, with an aluminium core that is built into the original. The seats are non-standard, with improved adjustment, and are possibly ex. Jaguar. The Dickey seats are original and good and the hood is a black mohair replacement. The bodywork, which is solid, was stripped in 2019 but unfortunately has a poor paint finish.
The history file contains a quantity of invoices and the V5C registration certificate.
