This cosseted and striking Zermatt Silver 1988 944S has been in the current enthusiast ownership for five years, during which time it has been expertly maintained to a high standard with no expense spared.

The vendor describes the Porsche as overall in very good order. We understand that in 2019, new sills were fitted and a partial respray was carried out (including to the sunroof). In 2021, Porsche Classic in Bournemouth carried out a thorough mechanical check at a cost of almost £4000; work included new engine management, a compression check and odometer gear replacement. The cambelt and timing belts were replaced 10000 miles ago and new short brake pipes were installed in 2023. The Porsche sits on a set of new tyres (as of last year), and the bonnet was resprayed in 2024 also. It is worth noting that the original Special Edition turbo model wheels are correct.

We are told that the bodywork, chassis, floor etc are all in very good order. The paint finish is described as excellent. The upholstery is the original beige striped velour and is in good order, apart from a small tear in the passenger seat. The dashboard has some of the usual cracking associated with the model, but all instrumentation is in working order. The driver’s window has an intermittent fault. The vendor has been very honest with his description.

Mechanically, the 944S is in very good order and performs as one would expect. The sports car benefits from a current MOT test certificate until February 2026 and is certainly ready for a summer of motoring.

The vendor tells us that he has retained the original registration number E996 JMO and will include it with the car if the new owner is happy to pay the transfer fee.

The large history file contains comprehensive service records, the original handbook and service book, invoices, MOT test certificates dating back to 1991 and the V5C registration certificate. The original tool roll and roof bag are also supplied.
