In 1965, Rolls-Royce introduced an entirely new design with unitary construction, self-levelling independent suspension and servo assisted brakes with three separate circuits. Power was provided by a V8 engine from the Silver Cloud, which was increased to 6750cc in 1970, driving through a GM three speed automatic gearbox. Progress was swift for such a large car and the smoothness was exceptional. Today, the model represents exceptional value for money and indeed, that value is increasing.
This striking example is described as being good in most departments. First registered as KYM 444P and supplied by Jack Barclay Ltd of London, the Shadow’s former, late owner purchased the motor car in 2004 and maintained it to a very high standard. We understand that the coachwork was repainted and the interior refurbished in 2006 by the Haines Motor Museum workshops. In addition, a full brake overhaul was carried out, with the replacement of all major components. Ownership passed to the previous custodian’s wife, but the Rolls-Royce has been seldom used since; however, it has continued to be cherished and well-cared for. We understand that the mileage of 77200 is probably correct. Remaining in excellent condition, 3767 RK should not be confused with the average ‘down-at-heel’ example.
The history file contains the original handbook and service books etc… in their original wallet, together with invoices, the V5C registration certificate and several MOT test certificates.
