1993 Mercedes-Benz E220 Convertible

Arriving in 1993 and still in production today, Mercedes-Benz’s ‘E-Klasse’, or ‘Einspritzmotor-klasse’, range of vehicles are well designed, highly-appointed and powerful, comfortable touring motor cars and Mercedes’ best-selling range of models to date. Today, the earlier E-Class models represent excellent value for money, adding style, substance and class to our daily travel.

With just two former keepers, this E220 Convertible was purchased by its current custodian in January 2014 and has been serviced and MOT tested by Mercedes-Benz of Poole since that time. Maintenance work carried out during the current ownership includes the fitting of new headlining and a new hood (retaining the original rear window), and a retrim in leather of the steering wheel. The motor car is equipped with a new hood control unit and a new Bosch battery, and has been given rust-prevention treatment. Two new engine compartment wiring looms have been installed, as well as all new rubber hoses, seals and pipes appertaining to the braking system and gearbox. It is worth noting that all replacement parts are genuine Mercedes-Benz. The motor car also has four new tyres.  The vendor is honest with his description: while it is understood that the mechanics are good in most departments, we are told that one bulb is out on the facia lighting, the right-hand-rear window is inoperative and the seat belt Butlers are also currently not working, apparently a common fault. The interior and exterior are generally good, with just one scuff to the plastic bumper (left-hand-rear and right-hand-front).

The impressive four-seater convertible is supplied with a wind deflector, handbooks, invoices, service history, MOT test certificates and the V5C registration certificate.
