1995 Ford Escort Mexico

Roaring onto the UK car market in 1968, the Escort was a departure for Ford; the modern styling and mechanics boosted its appeal to the British public, so much so that it became the best selling UK car in the Sixties. No doubt its adaptability aided its success – the model range was equally suited to young bright things as it was to families wanting reliability and value for money from their motor car.  Since its arrival, the Escort has become rather a cult classic and has gained a huge following, not least with those who prefer their transportation to be something of a statement.

Based on the same specification as the Escort 1600 Zetec LX, the Mexico was a limited edition model produced by Ford in celebration of the Escort that won the Mexico Rally some thirty years previously.

This clean and tidy example has recently been in heated dry storage, so will require a new MOT test before returning to the road. It has however been fitted with a new battery and the vendor tells us that it drives and performs as well as one would expect. Overall, the Mexico is in smart, presentable condition, with a good interior and no known mechanical faults.

The history file supplied with the motor car includes sundry invoices, the original handbooks and service guide in their wallet and the V5C registration certificate.
