This delightful Mini, consigned to the sale from Dorset, is in beautiful, difficult-to-fault condition. The original 1969 Morris Mini has been rebuilt and highly modified and presents an exciting opportunity for the serious Mini enthusiast. The restored body, chassis, underside, floor etc is all in immaculate condition, as is the Moonwalk Grey paintwork (with black and Union Jack roof panel); the renewed interior is superb and the mechanics are in excellent order with no known issues.
In brief, SRP 476G has the following modifications: a 1380cc A+ block has been fitted, offset bored to 73.5mm, using Powermax pistons .The Mini has a nitrided crankshaft, a Minisport 544 camshaft with 1.5 roller rockers, a Cooper 11 stud cylinder head (with 36/31 ports), a Maniflow LCB manifold and exhaust, twin 1.5 inch HIF38 carburettors, a Minisport lightened and balanced 100 bhp flywheel and cross pin, a high capacity oil pump, electronic ignition, a 2 core Minisport alloy radiator, Group 5 arches and a four point roll cage, an alloy sump guard, Goodridge silicone hoses and pipes, grooved front discs and Superfin alloy drums, adjustable bottom arms, Polybushes and a rear beam axle.
From the large file, we note that work extensive work began in 2014, when mechanical maintenance / restoration / modifications were carried out, and then again in 2020, when the Mini underwent further mechanical work and was the subject of a cosmetic restoration, with panels replaced where necessary, a new fuel tank fitted, plus new stainless steel bumpers and a new carpet set etc. The Union Jack adorned roof appeared at that time and we presume that the Mini was also resprayed at that point. The sports car was set up on a Rolling Road in in the same year. In 2021, a new camshaft spring kit was installed and in 2022, work included the fitting of new fuel hose, a new wiper wheel box and a carburettor tune up.
The history file contains photographs of the restoration, numerous invoices (establishing that this was a no expense spared restoration), MOT test certificates from 2013, older V5Cs and the current V5C registration certificate.
