1978 Yamaha XS250

The Yamaha Corporation was formed in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha. After World War II, the company diversified from producing pianos and reed organs by utilising war-time production machinery to produce the first Yamaha motorcycle, the YA-1. Now one of the World’s leading manufacturers of a diverse range of electrical goods and musical instruments, Yamaha also continues to produce highly regarded and very successful competition and touring motorcycles.

This Yamaha project starts and runs well. An invoice supplied with the machine details that attention to the brakes, fuel system and rear shock absorbers, together with other work for the MOT test, was carried out in November 2013. The vendor suggests that the Yamaha should be a straight forward, rewarding cosmetic restoration.

The V5C registration certificate and the aforementioned invoice are supplied with the XS250. It is at present on SORN.
