1959 Triumph 5TA 490cc

A motorcycle initially designed for the young executive who wanted to arrive at the office still looking tidy and smart, hence the wide front mudguard and the enclosed ‘bathtub’ panels over the rear. Sadly, although attractive enough, it appears the young at which it was targeted preferred to buy cars instead. A nice motorcycle was created though, and the model is still enjoyed by enthusiast riders who very often use the 5TA on classic runs.

This particular example has formed part of a private collection and is finished in maroon with a dual seat in black. The engine is a 490cc twin with foot change gearbox. Some restoration work has been carried out, with a new exhaust system and tyres fitted, and we are told that the mechanics are in good working order.

There is a V5C registration certificate with the Triumph.
