A new era in British motorcycle manufacturing was born in 1983 when Triumph Engineering went into receivership. John Bloor purchased the name and rights to the company and carefully changed the fortunes of the iconic English brand, making Triumph motorcycles once again highly competitive in a Japanese-led market. Arguably one of the new company’s cleverest ploys was to resurrect some of the famous model names from Triumph’s history: Trophy reappeared in the early Nineties, followed closely by Daytona and Trident. All were well-built, fantastically powerful and renowned for their smooth ride.
This modern classic Triumph appears to have been well-maintained and benefits from having had few owners. The vendor assures us that the Daytona is a good, reliable example, and is supplied with evidence of regular maintenance. The history file includes the original service handbook, the V5C registration certificate, numerous invoices and eleven MOT test certificates. The machine has had minimal use since its last service at 25379 miles in October 2013, when new HT coils and leads were fitted. The Triumph has become available due to its owner’s business commitments and a lack of spare time to enjoy the motorcycle.
