The four-stroke GS series from Suzuki were popular machines, first arriving in 1976. The GS1000 of 1977 made for a good basis for road racing motorcycles and gained wins in the Seventies and early Eighties, including the Formula 1 machines which won the Formula TT World Championship in 1980 and 1981.
This 1978 GS1000 was originally registered in Dublin and was registered in Poole on the 13th April 2011. With just three owners in total, the last being the late Mr Sansom, the Suzuki is finished in striking black with a maroon tank and rear fairing, and it is an early example equipped with alloy rims on the spoked wheels. Due to its low mileage of 26601 miles and its period of storage, we would recommend recommissioning before returning the motorcycle to the road.
Included in the sale is the original Irish number plate and road tax disc, a copy of the sales invoice, five MOT test certificates and the V5C registration certificate.
