1969 Rover 3.5 Litre Saloon

Known as the P5B, the Rover 3.5 Litre Saloon exudes British craftsmanship of the period, offering roomy four to five seat accommodation, trimmed in leather with good quality carpeting and a wood fascia on which is mounted a binnacle housing any instrumentation and switches required. Small wonder that the space and comfort so afforded made this motor car the choice of royalty and ministers of the time.

Here we have a gleaming Admiralty Blue example with  near faultless deep gloss paintwork, complimented by a lovely light tan interior, having all the above features showing just a little wear to the rear carpets but otherwise true to form. A sliding shelf is just under the dashboard and a period Motorola radio is in place, though not tested. The motor car has had just three previous custodians, the first being a doctor, whose son became the second owner. The current custodian is a marque enthusiast who has clearly cherished his P5B but wishes to move onto something a little more modern.

Abundant power comes from the doughty 3531 cc V8 engine, which although with roots from over the water, has been widely embraced by our own manufacturers and is generally acceptable now as being a very good and reliable addition, worthy of use in our fine home built products.

Parked in our showroom between a brace of R-Type Bentleys, this Rover definitely holds its own in terms of prestige and automotive aplomb.

With this proudly offered P5B comes the V5C registration certificate, and a file of invoices, the old V5 document , MOT test certificates, a maintenance manual, a Factory Options price list and Rover Sports Register information. The mileage of 61741 is believed to be correct.
