At the turn of the twentieth century from the Olds Motor Works in Lansing, Michigan, came the world’s first mass-production automobile, known as the Curved Dash Oldsmobile. By 1928 the firm had produced a large variety of cars of varying sizes, with 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines. The Model F28 featured a powerful six cylinder side valve unit of 3236cc. The engine was apparently renowned for its quietness and smooth operation. The Fisher touring coachwork offers generous accommodation with four to five seats enclosed by a large hood and side screens.
This particular example is finished in burgundy with white side flash and black wings and has been used for club runs and rallies. The vendor describes the car as a powerful vintage tourer with no known major faults, but does require some tender loving care….
The motor car is offered with V5C registration certificate, various literature and photographs, some older MOT certificates and various invoices. The modest guide price should enable a family to enjoy some open vintage motoring at a reasonable cost. A spare engine and gearbox will be included with the Oldsmobile, to be collected by prior arrangement.
