1933 Morris Minor Two Seat Tourer

The original Morris Minor arrived in 1928, in direct competition with the phenomenon that was the Austin Seven. The model was equipped with cable brakes, a three speed gearbox and an 847cc, over-head camshaft engine, based on a design by Wolseley, which in 1932 was replaced with a side-valve unit for the final year of the Minor’s production. The petite sports car had a 48” wheelbase and initially had just two body styles – a two door saloon and a four-seat tourer, but during its production up to twelve were offered, including the arrival of a van in 1930.

This smart sporting Minor has been the subject of an older restoration and the previous custodian carried out a comprehensive mechanical rebuild from 2013 until 2019. We understand that attention was given to the gearbox, clutch, braking system and carburettor etc. New Avon tyres were fitted, as were new plugs, distributor and battery in 2019, plus much more. The Morris has sensibly been upgraded with indicators. Overall, the Minor is in very good and reliable mechanical condition and was driven to DVCA from south Devon.  The current custodian describes the motor car as very good and totally reliable. The bodywork is in sound, tidy condition with some paint imperfections touched in. The upholstery is a recent replacement and in good order, and the Double-Duck weather equipment is in excellent condition with the side screens present.

The large history file contains the V5C registration certificate, a part photocopy / part original handbook, a modern information manual, numerous invoices dating from 2006, an inventory of work carried out from 2013 until 2019, correspondence detailing some of the Minor’s history and previous custodians, maintenance information, old road tax discs, MOT test certificates and older correspondence and invoices dating from 1967.
