Launched to compete with Ford’s Model ‘Y’ and the similar Austin 7, the Morris Eight became one of Britain’s most successful pre-war cars and today, it is considered to be amongst the most useable of pre-war classics. Easy to drive and great fun to live with, the Morris Eight Tourer brings great pleasure to many with a thriving club and good spares availability.
All the way from Wales comes this pretty little red and black example. This one has apparently received a later 918cc, Series E Morris engine and four speed manual gearbox, which is not unusual.
The bodywork is described as good with a bare metal respray noted in 2012. Maybe a little more attention to the actual door lines would be worthwhile, but it is generally a nice looking example. The red interior has been part re-trimmed, the black duck hood is good and side screen are all intact. All ancillaries are described as good and only the petrol gauge carries a warning of inaccuracy.
There are some spares offered with the car and a list will be found on file together with the V5C registration certificate, a Morris information manual and various invoices and old MOT test certificates.
Maybe there will be a welcome in the hillside should she return to Wales.
