1986 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Auto with Hardtop

First appearing in 1954 as the 300SL ‘Gullwing’, the Mercedes-Benz SL series is synonymous with a long line of high quality, grand touring sports cars. Now firmly established as a collector’s motor car, the Mercedes-Benz 500SL is a member of the third generation of models belonging to that famous SL series. Arriving in 1986, the 500SL was equipped with a five litre V8 litre engine, producing a powerful, stylish motor car that today offers excellent value for money.

Nearing the end of the third generation of the R107 SL range, C866 KGC offers luxurious dependable performance. The motor car is finished in the attractive colour combination of Smoke Silver and chocolate leather upholstery, and has had just four previous custodians to add to the current family ownership of ten years. With an odometer reading of 107500 miles, the 500SL is smart and is described as being in good overall condition; complete with a detachable hardtop for inclement British weather, the mohair hood is also in good, serviceable order. The Mercedes has been used infrequently and stored in a heated garage throughout the last decade. Mechanically, it has no known faults. The current custodian has a preference for four legged horsepower as opposed to the four-wheeled variety, and with limited spare time, so has sensibly decided to part with her Mercedes-Benz.
