1970 MG B Roadster

Probably the most widely recognisable of all British classics, the MG B’s appeal still stretches far and wide, from first time classic car enthusiasts with limited budgets to more experienced collectors and competitors. At the time of its launch back in 1962, it was something of a phenomenon for the motoring classes of Britain; not only stylishly designed both as a GT Coupe and ‘Roadster’, the MG B was also practical and affordable.

This example was the subject of a professional restoration, carried out in 1993, which included an engine rebuild, a body restoration, the reupholstering of the interior and replacement of the hood. The current custodian purchased the MG the following year and has since maintained the sports car to a good mechanical standard. We understand that the hood now shows some signs of wear and some surface rust is present on the wire wheels; the bodywork has the crucial good panel fit and remains solid, but unfortunately the paintwork shows evidence of micro-blistering. The upholstery remains in good condition and the interior is equipped with new carpets. The vendor has sensibly converted the electrics to one 12 volt battery and during the ownership of twenty six years, the MG has covered just 7800 miles.

A large history file is supplied with the Roadster, which includes the V5C registration certificate and its replacement, a quantity of invoices and MOT test certificates.
