1977 MG B GT

Introduced by the Abingdon Works in 1962, the MG B took over from its fore runner, the MGA, as the entirely new unit construction sports two seater with 95bhp, 3 bearing, 1798cc engine, driving through a four speed gearbox, eventually with optional overdrive. Through the years the car evolved with many detailed changes, including a five bearing engine, but the basic format of an honest sporting conveyance was always retained.

This very smart B GT was restored by the vendor’s late father in 2011 and images of the work carried out are provided. The comprehensive restoration not only included attention to the body and a repaint, but also a retrim with black leather upholstery and red piping. The mechanical aspect has also been thoroughly checked and we are informed by the owner that all is in working order. The MG sits on recently-fitted new alloy road wheels and new tyres. With a total of just four owners, ORX 3R has an odometer reading of 56250 with is understood to be correct.
