Probably the most widely recognisable of all British classics, the MG B’s appeal stretches far and wide, from first time classic car enthusiasts with limited budgets to more experienced collectors and competitors. With the invaluable support from the excellent MG Car Club, these sports cars are certainly a joy to use today, and economical to run and maintain.
This Teal Blue B GT, affectionately known as Bea, was a gift for the current lady custodian in 2006, presented to her wrapped in a big red bow! Bea has been enjoyed at local cars shows and won prizes too, and has been a much loved and fun member of the family, regularly used and maintained, always garaged and rarely taken out in the rain. The vendor describes the motor car as in good condition all round; the original interior is very tidy for its age, the carpets are showing some signs of wear but are certainly serviceable, and instrumentation is in working order apart from the petrol gauge. The body and panel fit are good, the paint is not concours but is in very good condition and appears to be rust free. There are no known mechanical faults. From the file, we see that some restoration was completed in the early 1990s and then in 2005, an engine rebuild was carried out and apparently the gearbox was checked and the carburettors adjusted. The braking system was also overhauled at that time. Wheel cylinders were replaced in 2012 and most recently, two new batteries have been fitted.
The history file contains numerous MOT test certificates from 1992, a good number of invoices from previous and current ownerships, an older V5C and the current V5C registration certificate.
