The MG marque, founded by Cecil Kimber in the late 1920s whilst in charge of Morris Garages, has long provided entertaining motoring for the sporting fraternity, with much success on the track and in sporting trials. The Midget name has been handed down through several generations of MGs and many still survive giving a great deal of pleasure to their owners.
This 1976 example is powered by the four cylinder 1496cc engine, shared with the Triumph Spitfire and smaller Dolomites. With a nifty four speed manual gearbox, and leaf spring rear suspension, progress can be made in an entertaining fashion and nothing quite compares with honest wind in your hair motoring at such modest cost. We are told that the bodywork and underside is good and the Bracken paintwork very good. Likewise the black upholstery is said to be good, as is the hood and tonneau.
A V5C registration certificate accompanies the car, which apparently has only had three previous owners. Summer is a coming, we are told, and the rain must surely stop soon. What finer way to lose those cobwebs and the winter blues?
