1989 Kawasaki EX500-A2 (GPZ 500S)

Kawasaki began developing motorcycle engines in 1949.  By 1952 completion of design was finished and in 1953 production started in earnest. By the Sixties, the company started to develop and construct high performance sporting motorcycles , winning the 1969 World Championship with a 125cc disc-valve twin.  The development progressed to four-stroke fours for Superbike racing.

The motorcycle-collector vendor of this EX500-A2 decided in 2007 that it was time to hang up his helmet and gauntlets and stick with the comfort of four wheeled transportation. Therefore, the Kawasaki was put into hibernation and has remained there until recent weeks. F84 FYB was in good running order when put into dry storage and had been serviced regularly, so it can be presumed that recommissioning should be fairly straight-forward before returning the Somerset-registered machine to the road.

The file contains the V5C registration certificate, the owner’s manual, twelve MOT test certificates, old road tax discs and sundry invoices.
