1990 Honda Gold Wing GL1500 with Trailer

In comparison to many other motorcycles of the era, the GL1500 Honda is superbly engineered, featuring an integral design package of fairings, seating, controls and luggage compartments. The engine is quiet and turbine smooth, and the riding experience is described by many as incomparable; with its overdrive, rarely does one have to exceed 3000rpm to reach 75mph and the engine torque is exceptional. When accelerating, we understand that the g-force is comparable to an aircraft on take-off - although obviously we haven’t tested this! Designed for touring, the motorcycle corners better than one would imagine and offers ease of handling and comfort for its rider and buddy. In America, these machines are documented to have carried their occupants 1000 miles in one day.

The current registered keeper of this 1990 Gold Wing purchased the motorcycle in 1993 from its previous custodian and first UK keeper, who had bought the machine in April 1992. The condition of the Honda remains excellent. A full and lengthy specification is included in the history, but in brief, we can advise that the motorcycle is powered by a flat six cylinder 1520cc water-cooled, belt-driven twin OHC engine with hydraulic tappets, producing 100 brake horse power and 110 ft lbs torque. Transmission is four speed plus overdrive and an electric reverse gear. There is shaft drive to the rear wheel, triple hydraulic disc brakes (one hand operated front disc brake plus front and rear foot operated disc brakes), adjustable air assisted rear coil springs, a front coil spring slider and oil-damped forks.

Supplied with the Gold Wing is a matching trailer unit containing full camping equipment - all of which is in pristine condition and ready for its next continental tour. Also included are two spare trailer wheels with tyres, a battery conditioner, a large framed photograph, some spare parts, Honda Gold Wing branded soft luggage, a service manual, a Gold Wing book, MOT test certificates, the V5C registration certificate, the aforesaid full specification and a motorcycle cover.
