1973 Honda SS50

Arriving in the late 1960s, Honda’s SS50 moped was renowned for its good reliability. The economical ‘Super Sports’ was equipped with telescopic front forks and powered by a 49cc, four-stroke over-head camshaft engine. The well-designed, sporting machine was enhanced with plenty of chrome detailing, and it competed successfully with its moped rivals of the era.

An original UK model, this particular example was professionally restored in 2008. Many genuine new parts were fitted to the Honda, including an exhaust and wiring loom etc… The current custodian has ridden the moped on private ground and assures us that it runs well, with everything in working order. However, we are informed that the machine will require new tyres prior to returning to the road.

The extremely smart, stylish moped has belonged to a private collector since 2009, and is supplied with its V5C registration certificate.
