Launched at La Sarthe in 1998, the Arnage benefitted from the collaboration between Bentley, Rolls-Royce and BMW. The prestige sporting car was briefly the fastest four door saloon on the market; initially powered by a 4.4 litre twin turbocharged V8 unit, the Arnage then inherited a version of the 6.75 litre Turbo R’s engine after the take-over by Volkswagen, which produced a very respectable 420bhp. To differentiate, the former became known as the Green Label, and the later, the Red Label. With the iconic body design and luxurious interior styling we all expect from Bentley, the Arnage Red Label is an exciting prospect for those wanting their modern motor car to offer power, style and substance.
Finished in the desirable combination of Peacock Blue, complimented by the Cotswold hide interior, this example was purchased in 2009 from specialist P&A Wood of Essex by its previous owner, who gently exercised the Bentley for 5000 miles. The Arnage has clearly been well-cared for throughout its life; invoices from Jack Barclay (who has serviced the motor car) and several from P&A Wood verify this and are contained within the file. The current collector custodian describes X434 GJU as a pleasure to drive and in generally excellent condition, with no known faults.
The aforementioned file contains the invoices, correspondence, handbooks, the service books, several past MOT test certificates and the V5C registration certificate.
