Following a period of long term storage, this Road Rocket was the subject of a restoration which included an engine and gearbox rebuild (which has yet to be run in). The fuel tank rebuild was undertaken by a specialist and we are informed that it was triple chrome plated and the cost of the tank restoration alone was £2000. New fuel taps were also fitted at the time.
SSJ 242 has been museum displayed for around six years, therefore we would recommend that the Road Rocket is recommissioned before heading to the highways. The current custodian is reducing his stable of classics, hence the sale of the BSA.
The show standard BSA is supplied with a letter from the Vintage Motor Cycle Club confirming the frame number, the V5C registration certificate and sundry MOT test certificates.
