1987 BMW M535i Auto

Manufactured since 1972 the BMW 5 series was first only produced in the saloon body style, with the estate version referred to as the ‘Touring’ arriving in 1991. The sporting ‘M’ designation came in 1986 and was built by BMW’s motorsport department; the first generation of the series was built on the 535i chassis and with its 3453cc engine, overhead-camshaft 6 cylinder engine, was the fastest saloon of its era on the market.

This particular M535i has been dry stored for approximately six years when it was taken off of the road because of a suspected head gasket fault. This is substantiated by the last MOT test certificate included in the history which expired on the 31st March 2012. We are informed that the rare (only 408 right hand drive models were ever produced) high performance saloon is considered to be relatively complete and is offered with its tool kit and jack, and even retains its factory fitted rear radio speakers!

The history file includes handbooks, the V5C registration certificate, invoices, a quantity of MOT test certificates and others.

A very worthwhile project.
