1985 BMW 320i Baur Cabriolet

The Stuttgart Karosserie of Baur was formed in 1910 and has been making convertibles for BMW since 1930. The Cabriolet was deemed safer as the Targa top could be removed and the fabric rear hood folded to leave a stout rollover bar in place in case of an inappropriate inversion.

The 3 Series BMW in various forms has proved popular and reliable and the fuel injected six cylinder 1990cc engine as fitted to this model, offers silky smooth performance linked to a five speed manual gearbox.

This Diamond Black metallic example was resprayed in 2020 and is very smart, enhanced by the added genuine BMW body kit and front air dam. A new centre section has been fitted to the front bumper. We understand that the suspension and brakes have recently been restored and a new battery fitted.  Powered steering is also fitted and the after- market alloy wheels have recently been given a fresh set of tyres

The black leather trim is described as good, as is the mohair hood.

The vendor, who has owned the BMW for twenty years, reports that all is good mechanically and there is an MOT test certificate to July 2022, which is available on file with the V5C registration certificate.
