The Mini, manufactured by BMC from 1959 until 2000, is synonymous with the 1960s. Manufactured at Longbridge and Cowley, and designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, this small economic motorcar has appealed to all manner of motorists and their enthusiasm lives on some 55 years later. You are sure to enjoy the benefit of a local Mini Owners Club not far from your home.
EVS 611T was first supplied by Mann Egerton and Company Ltd of Rickmansworth to a Mrs Wallace on the 1st May 1979. The original sales order and invoice contained in the file shows that the Mini cost £2240.09, including rustproofing treatment. After covering 43300 miles, ownership passed to a Mrs Lawley in 2000. During her custodianship, we understand that the Mini underwent a major photographic restoration, although the original interior trim, carpets, headlining and upholstery remain intact. The current owner purchased the motor car in 2010 after searching for a suitable example to exhibit at the National Maritime Museum in Cornwall. The Mini was collected from Brighton and driven 265 miles back home to Cornwall without any problems. Detailed work to the Mini commenced to bring it up to museum standard and in the same year, EVS 611T was exhibited at the National Maritime Museum until May 2016. The following month saw recommissioning work carried out and an MOT test certificate obtained at 48385 miles; with the vendor’s lack of time, it has been used sparingly since.
Modifications to the Mini include disc brakes on the front and five Minilite type alloy wheels with 165x12 tyres and wheel arch extension panels to accommodate this modification. The spare wheel and jack remain unused, and the motor car retains its original dealership sticker on the rear window.
A comprehensive file is supplied, which contains numerous invoices, images, the V5C registration certificate, some MOT test certificates, the original Supercover Handbook Portfolio and the aforementioned original order form and invoice.
