This TR4A was originally exported to America, common practice with Triumph sports cars. It was repatriated to the UK and registered for the road in 1995.
Although UCA 92D benefitted from residing in a warm and dry climate for almost thirty years, in recent years it has undergone a full body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration to an extremely high standard and regardless of cost. The leather upholstery is new and in a biscuit colour with Royal Blue piping, and the new carpets and mohair Surrey top are also in blue. The Royal Blue paintwork is finished to concours standard, the dashboard assembly, instrumentation and wood rim steering wheel all appear to be new and are in excellent order.
The mechanics have not been overlooked; the engine has been rebuilt and upgraded with main bearings, camshaft, timing chain and tensioner, a lightened flywheel, and an electric fan. The cylinder head has also been overhauled. The steering system has been checked with new items fitted and the exhaust assembly upgraded with stainless steel extractor manifolds and a big bore sports exhaust. Overdrive is fitted to the rebuilt gearbox. The TR sits on new sixty-spoke chrome wire wheels and the braking system has been overhauled with many replacement components fitted including new shock absorbers.
Offered for sale now from a deceased estate, its late owner a TR Register member, this lovely TR4A is an opportunity not to be missed.
The large history file includes a V5C registration certificate, a BMIHT certificate, a large quantity of invoices, data, copies of service schedules, an original handbook and twenty MOT test certificates.
