Our October Sale at Athelhampton House
The stars of the Autumn 'show' for many will be two entirely contrasting motor cars: firstly, the recently recommissioned 1956 Lancia Aurelia B20GT Series 6 2.5 V6 Coupe with coachwork by Pininfarina; equipped with the desirable Nardi floor gear change and twin Weber carburettors, this superb Lancia is ready to be enjoyed and would make a suitable competition car for many historic events, and secondly, a fascinating and rare 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 in well maintained, excellent condition. Complimenting the Aurelia and DeLorean will be a variety of pre-war motor cars, including a stunning 1934 Talbot AX 65 Six Light Saloon by Darracq with an extensive history, an imposing 1923 Wolseley Fourteen Tourer by Smith & Waddington, an impressive 1927 Buick 48 Master Six Opera Coupe, a well-maintained 1931 Morris Minor Two Seat Sports Tourer, a sporting 1925 Riley 11/40 12hp Four Seat Tourer, and a recently restored 1932 Austin 7 RN De Luxe Saloon.
An array of mid to late twentieth century motor cars and motorcycles will complement the older motors; vehicles included in the auction range from two prestige Bentleys – a 2000 Arnage Red Label and a 1995 Continental R, which will offer their new custodians very luxurious motoring, to a rare 1986 lilac Talbot Samba Cabriolet, a retro 1970 Ford Cortina 1600E and a classy Italian 1967 Fiat 124 Sport Spider by Pininfarina. Motorcycle enthusiasts will not be disappointed with DVCA’s offering: heading the two-wheeled line-up will be a marvellous 1954 Velocette MSS 500cc and a Velocette MAC 350cc of the same vintage. With restoration projects and machines ready for the road, and even a c1949 Carters Electric Invalid Carriage restored to museum standard, there will be something to suit everyone’s tastes at the auction at Athelhampton House on the 16th of October.
