March 2017 Results
After a turbulent spell of late winter weather, the clouds broke, the winds eased and the sun shone for our spring sale, held at Athelhampton House on the 2nd of March. The marquee was busy with the bustle of interested collectors and we had plenty of variety to offer them with nearly two hundred lots of memorabilia and automobilia and a selection of vehicles ranging from the pre-war to the modern classic. Heading the line-up was a very smart but usable 1958 Jaguar XK150SE Fixed Head Coupe that had travelled from Kent for the sale. The new custodian paid £52250 for the XK and it will now reside in Dorset. Norfolk is where the recently-restored 1960 Triumph TR3A headed off to, for the sum of £27500, and the 1932 Morris Cowley Saloon with its 'Sliding Head' made £8470. Two cherished Morris Minor Travellers were purchased by a famous hotel chain for £6820 and £8800, and the 1960 Minor Convertible that was supplied new from Marnhull (in North Dorset) but did require some superficial attention, fetched £4620. A gorgeous 1965 Morris Mini Minor Super Deluxe was purchased by an enthusiast for £7590, a rare 1973 Audi 80GL achieved £5100 and a 1967 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 Saloon made £12375. Motorcycles sold well too, including a beautifully restored 1990 Yamaha FS1 that was purchased for £1760. Complete results can be found on our sale results pages.
