Autumn Rolls-Royces
We are delighted to offer a trio of privately-owned Rolls-Royces at our forthcoming Autumn Sale on the 15th of October at the prestigious Athelhampton House, near Dorchester, DT2 7LG. The oldest of the collection is a 1926 Rolls-Royce 20hp, with ‘Dual Cowl Barrel Sided’ Coachwork in the style of Barker that has benefitted from a comprehensive restoration, and has since been cherished by its enthusiast owner who regularly exercised the motor car locally in Berkshire. The Rolls-Royce is faultless to drive and a pleasure for lovers of the marque. Complimenting the Tourer is a 1929 Rolls-Royce 20hp Two Door Weymann Close Coupled Saloon with coachwork by Freestone and Webb. A sublime example of a now-rare model, the Saloon is in exceptionally original condition, having been carefully maintained and enjoyed by its Dorset-based Rolls-Royce Enthusiast Club member owner on rallies both in the UK and Europe. We hope that the motor car will go to a collector who will retain the originality and patina. Finally, to complete the group, we will offer a 1935 Rolls-Royce 20/25 Touring Sports Saloon that has all the presence and elegance of the era in which it was built. With coachwork by Hooper, the impressive model was originally intended for the owner-driver and boasts the fine sporting lines associated with that famous design house.
