1986 Toyota MR2 Mk I

Regarded by many as a modern classic, the MR2 has a keen and loyal following of enthusiasts who appreciate the model range’s lightweight, economical and sporty design. In production from 1984 until 2007, there were three generations of the MR2 that shared essentials such as the strut front and rear suspension and the straight-four engine, but were all markedly different from each other in other areas, most notably in the body design. However, with its original stand-out design, the Mk I is often considered to be the best of the bunch.

The current lady custodian and second only owner purchased this MR2 from Toyota GB in Park Lane in 1988. We understand that the motor car is nicely presented and in good condition throughout; it was the subject of a complete respray in 2010 and we are informed that it remains in good condition. The upholstery is very smart in black Connolly leather, a new Sony radio unit is fitted and the door cards have been replaced with original Toyota parts. Mechanically, we understand there to be no issues; a stainless steel exhaust system has recently been fitted, as have new P&W alloy road wheels. The clutch was replaced two years ago and we are assured that all replacement parts used throughout this ownership of twenty nine years have been genuine Toyota.

The MR2 is supplied with the original handbook, service invoices, most of the motor car’s MOT test certificates and the V5C registration certificate.
