In the same family ownership for 55 years, this little Austin Seven has to be the ultimate family pet. As a transitional model , it is rare and interesting as it falls between the short chassis Chummy and the long chassis model of 1932 with upright chromed radiator grill. It may well be that this is the only such model in the South of England.
The Austin Seven is now almost 100 years old and has been offered in many different forms. That we have six different examples here in our sale is a delightful treat, even if it tests the catalogue writer’s ability to think of something different to say about each one.
RH 5344 is nicely presented in red and black with correct hood and side screens. We understand that an electric fuel pump has been fitted but otherwise it appears to be in good original condition throughout.
As stated elsewhere, if you have never enjoyed ownership of an Austin Seven, this is an excellent opportunity to take one home. This is a rare one and might be first choice, but all will provide hours of fun, with only a few tears and maybe minor loss of blood.
A modern V5C registration certificate, RF 60 registration book and various instruction books will come with the Austin, plus written evidence if needed of just how awkward the DVLA at Swansea can be when one tries to obtain the correct registration number for an old motor car.
