Aston Martin was acquired by Ford in 1987, ensuring the company’s future and two years later, Jaguar was also taken over by the American giant; this facilitated the renaissance of the DB line, which had been dormant since the 1970s. Styled by Ian Callum, the DB7 was reminiscent of the traditional Astons. In its maker’s own words: ‘The DB7 merges contemporary and classic themes….. It stands out in a crowd without being overstated, and benefits from intelligent engineering design. Its aerodynamic shape is both elegant and functional – it could only be an Aston Martin…’
This superlative low mileage DB7, powered by the 3.2 litre inline six cylinder supercharged engine driven through a five speed manual gearbox, gives more than adequate performance and excellent handling. Finished in burgundy with a pleasing ivory and burgundy interior, this Aston Martin is in fact difficult to fault and has obviously been well cared for throughout its life. Documentation included in the history indicates that maintenance has been thorough and indeed, the current custodian informs us that he knows of no issues with the supercar. Due to a change in circumstances, he has regrettably decided to offer the Aston for sale.
We understand that the service book and invoices reveal a full service and maintenance history and these are included in the large file. Also included in the sale is the original DB7 owner’s guide – handbook, a copy parts book, a quantity of MOT test certificates dating back to 1998, numerous invoices and the V5C registration certificate.
An inexpensive entry into the world of Aston Martin motoring.
